The BOSS™ is a totally enclosed, oil filled, self contained, shaft and thrust bearing assembly, supplied as a complete unit from transmission output coupling to propeller end. Based on years of research and development, and covered by numerous Patent applications, the BOSS™ delivers.
Rubber mounting to the hull structure, with a flexible connection to the propulsion engine, ensures shaft-line noise and vibration are eliminated at the source. The non-rotating, full length shaft casing and thrust bearing assembly minimizes mechanical losses to only 2%, leaving valuable extra power where you want it… for propulsion. The BOSS™ further delivers unrivaled ruggedness in operation coupled with the lowest underbody drag of any system currently available.

The BOSS, Bolt On Shaft System feature quick, easy installation, with no alignment issues during construction, or post-delivery. BOSS systems have no horsepower restricitons, and are available from 1″-4″ in standard production, with larger diameters available engineered to order.
The M4B, ST4B, and MX2 systems are an integrated gearbox to propeller solution, incorporating roller trust bearings, in a non-rotating oil filled outer casing, eliminating dip-less seals, stuffing boxes, cutlass bearings, and in many cases the need for intermediate struts. Turbulent water flow to propellers is eliminated increasing propeller efficiency and reducing noise and vibration transmitted to the hull structure. With no shaft seals to leak, engine rooms stay clean and dry.
The MX1 system is also available as a no-compromise alternative for both new construction and refit.
The BOSS system service/maintenance cycle is every 5 years, or 3,000 hours, whichever comes first. Extended Warranty/Protection packages are also available.
